The first time you find a new feature, you often don't see the shot. The first time I saw these narrows with all of the alien curves and shadows, I knew there was a shot in it somewhere. I've visited it several times now and finally on the last visit I finally found something I was happy with. This view brought many of the best features together for me. There may be more shots to be had around here, and I'm going to keep looking.
I've photographed these falls many times but have never been happy with the results. I've been working on the composition and waiting for good lighting. Finally, I'm starting to like what I'm getting out of this location.
We toured the reconstructed cowboy dugout in Palo Duro Canyon State Park today. This would have been a dark and dirty way to live, but it was as good as it got 150 years ago in the Texas Panhandle.
